MONSTER MAGNET Frontman Explains Madrid Show Cancellation
April 5, 2004MONSTER MAGNET frontman Dave Wyndorf has issued a statement explaining the reasons for the group's cancellation of their April 6 gig in Madrid, Spain. It reads as follows:
"To all our friends in Madrid: It is with great disappointment and regret that we must cancel our concert in Madrid. It has been a long tour and sometimes after weeks and weeks of singing, my throat is so sore and worn out that it is impossible to do the kind of show that is worthy of your respect. We take great pride in giving our friends the best concerts possible and I’m sure you want the best we can offer. Unfortunately, the show in Madrid had to be sacrificed in order for the rest of the tour to continue, other shows in other countries were sacrificed as well. I can only offer you my deepest apology and hope to make it up to you in the future. Viva Madrid, viva Spain.
"Love Dave Wyndorf and MONSTER MAGNET.
"PS: On a more serious note, MONSTER MAGNET offers our heartfelt condolence in the wake of your recent tragedies. You may or may not know that we live very close to New York City and are no strangers to the effects of terrorism. Much love and respect to all of Spain."
